BRENDAN DOUGLAS FILZEK (1994-2003)

Brendan Filzek was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in October 1999 at the tender age of 5. He bravely battled cancer for almost 4 years, with 2 complete remissions, before passing away in February 2003.

The Brendan Filzek Childhood Cancer Assistance Fund was established in January 1999 at Brendan's request to help children who were fighting cancer and their families. Our fund raising efforts have benefited Children's Hospital of Michigan, Camp Quality, Kids Kicking Cancer and Make a Wish to name just a few.

To date, we have raised over $90,000 that has gone directly to organizations that make a difference in their lives of kids fighting cancer. It was always a priority of Brendan's to help others, regardless of his own situation. The goal of this fund is to honor Brendan's memory by continuing the work that was so very important to him.
